What is the website for?

The site is intended as an independent guide and a resource for the Thirsk & Sowerby area of North Yorkshire, the exact area covered is deliberately left a little vague.

When did it start?

A page or two of information about Knayton, Borrowby and the Hillside parishes appeared on a personal site in mid 1998. By the end of 1998 some Thirsk and Sowerby information was appearing as well. The site has expanded considerably since then.

Who manages the site.

The site is independently owned and managed and has nothing to do with the local town, parish, district or county councils.

How many people look at the site?

The site currently (July 2011) receives around 1700 unique visitors and 6,000 page views a week.

How much does a listing cost?

A basic listing is currently FREE for local events, accommodation, businesses etc. We do of course reserve the right to include or exclude material at our whim. If you want an enhanced listing, a whole page or website contact us for a quote.
