March 2010

Sat  6 Borrowby Book Exchange 10.30-noon Borrowby Village Hall. Freshly brewed coffee, tea, home-made cakes and a large collection of second-hand books. Paperbacks 50p, hardback £1. A social event not to be missed!

Sat  6 Knayton Village Hall & The History Wardrobe invite you to A 1940s Wartime Wedding and afterwards to a buffet reception in the village hall. In your seats by 7.25pm 40s music, food and a good old fashioned knees up. Tickets £8/4 from 537653.

Thu 11 Leake Lent Lunches with a Tradecraft Stall and Exhibition 12-2pm at Knayton Village Hall. Cost £3 a head for soup and roll in aid of Leake church roof repairs.

Thu 11 Hillside Ladies group 7.30pm Borrowby Village Hall. Barbara Fishwick will demonstrate spinning, felting and weaving. Visitors always welcome, £2.

Sat 13 Domino Drive 7.30pm Knayton Village Hall £1.50

Sat 13 Traditional Race Night with board and dice. Dog and Gun Knayton, also live ferret racing. First race 7pm.

Wed 17 Hillside Garden and Social club meet in Knayton Village hall at 7.30 for a talk by Mr Pat Craven entitled "Plant hunting in Iran".

Fri 19 Call my bluff wine tasting 7 for 7.30 Borrowby Village Hall

Wed 24 Borrowby Parish Council Meeting at 8.00 pm in Borrowby Village Hall. A light hearted night where you get to taste/drink the wines and the panel try to bluff you with their wit and guile about the names and where the wines come from. Based on the TV show but with more to enjoy, and to drink!. All wine and light refreshments provided. Raffle etc. Tickets £15 from Simon, 537016.

Sat  3 The Miracle Maker A film showing the Life of Jesus through the eyes of a child. A family film suitable for all ages Borrowby Village Hall 5.30pm Free. Refreshments included

Sun 13 Borrowby Open Gardens from 1-6pm. 15-20 gardens will be open, with teas and light refreshments in the village hall. Admission £4 with under 12s free. Proceeds in aid of Friends of Knayton School, Hillside Rural Activities Park (HRAP) and Village Hall funds.

Fri 13 - Sat 14 Hillside Music Festival at HRAP Knayton Thirsk North Yorkshire. A family friendly festival, 2 stages with fairground, stalls, bar and good food. See website for details and tickets.
