Thirsk Rugby Club

Thirsk has a very strong rugby club made up from two Men's teams, two Ladies' teams and the full range of Junior teams starting from 6 year old right through to 16 year old. We play out of the Athletic club on Newsham road (down the side of the racecourse). The rugby pitch is located in front of the main stand of the racecourse, which gives a great backdrop for playing our games. All visiting teams are envious of the set up we have here at Thirsk.

The Men’s teams play on Saturday with the first team playing in Yorkshire division 5 and the second team playing friendly games only.

The Ladies teams play on Sunday with the first team playing in National Premiership division 1 and the second team playing in North division 4.

The Junior teams train and play on Sunday morning’s starting at 10:30am. Each junior player is allowed to play in 12 games per season and this is what we will be aiming to achieve by playing friendly games against other local junior teams.

New players for all the teams are most welcome to join the club at anytime throughout the season. If you are interested in playing or just curious about the game of rugby then please contact the relevant coach below to find out more about training times or joining the club.
