Thirsk makes an excellent base for exploring Darrowby - Herriot Country, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors by car, cycling or walking. More detailed visitor information is available from the excellent, volunteer run tourist information centre in Thirsk Market Place.

Car parking is free for one hour in the market place, with charging for longer stay parking. There are 3 off road carparks (details ) and on street disc parking.

There are is EV charging point in Millgate car park YO7 1AA Public toilets are next to Millgate car park and normally open 8am-6pm.Summer 8-5 winter..

The Ritz Cinema
The Ritz cinema is located in Thirsk, Yorkshire. The cinema is one of the oldest continuous run cinemas in the United Kingdom, having first opened to the public in 1912.
Since 1995 the cinema has been run by a dedicated team of volunteers, the cinema aims to bring recent film releases to a rural town at affordable prices.
