Thirsk local bus services: Thirsk is served by several bus operators. Timetables are available from Thirsk Tourist information and information will also be found at the bus stop in the Market place.
There are services to and from Thirsk railway station during the day. There are also daytime services to Ripon, Easingwold, York, Northallerton. However many of the surrounding villages do not have daily services. There is no bus service on Sundays or public holidays except for the summer moors bus service.

Rail Services:
Thirsk Station is about a mile and a half west of the centre of Thirsk. There is a bus service, the 1.3 mile walk to the town centre is flat and alongside the racecourse.
The station has very limited accessibility, wheelchair users and others who cannot use stairs, should check before using the station. There are accessible toilets on the southbound platform.
There are Transpennine Express services to
Northallerton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, York and beyond with connections to the
East Coast mainline and Cross
Country
services at York and Darlington.
Whilst physically on the mainline the only direct services to London are courtesy of open access operator Grand Central Railway. Grand Central also offer the cheapest way to get to and from York and other local stations, if their service times are suitable.

Airports: Teesside Airport (MME) is about 45 minutes drive from Thirsk with scheduled services to Amsterdam Schiphol with KLM, Southampton and Aberdeen. . Public transport to the airport is by bus via Darlington or Stockton. There is not a useful rail connection.
