Rail Services:

Thirsk Station is about a mile and a half west of the centre of Thirsk. There is a bus service, the 1.3 mile walk to the town centre is flat and alongside the racecourse.

The station has very limited accessibility, wheelchair users and others who cannot use stairs, should check before using the station. There are accessible toilets on the southbound platform.

There are Transpennine Express services to Northallerton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, York and beyond with connections to the East Coast mainline and Cross Country services at York and Darlington.

Whilst physically on the mainline the only direct services to London are courtesy of open access operator Grand Central Railway. Grand Central also offer the cheapest way to get to and from York and other local stations, if their service times are suitable.
