South Kilvington North Yorkshire
South Kilvington is a small village a mile to the north of Thirsk.
Originally on the main road from the north to York and the A1 to
south the, Thirsk bypass built in the 1970s removed much of the heavy
traffic.
There is still a bus service to Thirsk & Northallerton.
The
village has a population of about 230, a pub restaurant with rooms, a 12th century
church St Wilfrid's/St Wilfred's, a small commercial estate and a
primary school.
